Sam Jordan is a Hero Brown's best friend and potential love interest. He was spared from the mass extinction of the male gender due to him being a transman.
Biography[]
Sam Jordan is a transgender man. He was assigned female at birth, but identifies and lives as a man. Because he was born without a Y chromosome, he survived the mass extinction.
Before the plague, Sam was supposed to join Hero Brown for drinks after she had dinner with her parents, her brother and his girlfriend but family drama ruined the night and she just wanted to go home.
After the global apocalypse, Sam and Hero were hiding out with some other transmen. Sam and the others were frustrated at Hero for refusing using her status as the daughter of the recently ascended President of the United States, Jennifer Brown to get them into Washington, due to Hero's stubborn hatred of her mother.
When the other two transmen got fed up and left, they took all the testosterone, leaving Sam with just one vile, would he said would only last for two weeks. Sam reveals that because he's a transman, he has to constantly deal with cis gendered women asking him if he's a biological male. He even has to deal with hate talk from misandrist women who view transmen as sex/gender traitors.
Sam and Hero eventually come upon the Amazons survivalist cult, where for a while he once again experiences transphobia from the group. Sam and Hero briefly kiss while cuddling before being interrupted. At the same time, a girl named Jennifer subtly flirts with him. The cultish ways of the Amazons eventually forces Sam to leave.
